Company email (June 2013):
"we did some more research, and both of those are actually vegan friendly. There is nothing that we add to the beer that contains any animal product or byproduct. That being said, there is one point to consider. We do filter our beer with a DE filter. DE, or Diatomaceous Earth, is a naturally occurring, soft, siliceous sedimentary rock made partially from the fossilized remains of diatoms. Now, while all the information I can find shows that diatoms are algae, I know some vegan's won't do beer filtered with a DE filter. I guess that would be the only thing that is up to you."
[Editor's note: Whirlfloc (a combination of Irish moss and carrageenans from seaweed) and Yeast-x (yeast) ARE both vegan-friendly products]
Company email (March 2013):
"I am also sorry to say that our beer is not vegan. We use Whirlfloc and Yeast-x, both commonly used in the brewing process, and neither are a vegan product."
Company email (May 2012):
"Fulton does not add any animal products to its current offerings as ingredients"
