" am Russell, the brewer at Fenelon Falls Brewing Co. and the one who made all the beers on site since construction was completed and we opened up.

I have never used Isinglass in any of my brews, usually they are used for clarification. I don't usually add items for fining post-fermentation. Any hot-side additions I use for clarity involves a product called Whirlfloc T - from BSG (Brewer's Supply Group). Whirlfloc is Irish Moss - which is also fairly common in the brewing industry for protein/hot breaks. Irish Moss is another name for Chondrus Crispus or red algae - so no animal products.

The only beers made that use ingredients derived from animal processes that I can think of are the following

- Belgian Dubbel - I used some honey in the recipe, some people consider that an animal by-product
- Milkshake Lager - this beer had some lactose in it. The lactose sugar may have been synthesized or extracted from milk products, I'm not fully certain, though the point is ultimately irrelevant to you as this beer hasn't been available for quite some time, long since sold-out. "
