Company email (September 2016)
"All YB beers are vegan currently. I will be using honey in my upcoming Christmas beer, Mummer's Brew but all of our regular beers are vegan.
"I am not a vegan myself but over my 28 years in brewing, with the exception of a few beers made with with honey, all other beers I have ever brewed can be judged as vegan. Whenever I do something outside of that definition, it is always clearly labelled.
"As a consumer, I object to any product not clearly defined in terms of its additives.
"The main reason, I reject gelatin and isinglass finings is that they are often heavily preserved with sulfites. This, for many brewers is a much too convenient way for a class II preservative to 'piggyback' its way into a product without legal declaration."
