"While many of our wines are vegan, we use traditional farming and winemaking techniques to create each of our wines, and these do often change vintage to vintage. The Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc are always vegan. While many of the red wines are indeed vegan, a few are not, depending on vintage. I checked with our winemaker and she said the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon is vegan. Please let me know if you have any more questions."

The Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc are always vegan. While many of the red wines are indeed vegan, a few are not, depending on vintage. I checked with our winemaker and confirmed that the vintage 18 Rose is vegan and the 19 will also be vegan."
Company email (July 2019)
"I checked with our winemaker specifically about the 2016 Essential Red wine and she confirmed that it is NOT vegan. We do carry various wines that are vegan friendly like our 2016 Merlot, 2015 Old Wine Zinfandel and all of our white wines."
Company email (January 2018)
"Most of our wines are Vegan with some exceptions. We do not use any animal based products in our production other than egg whites. The egg whites are only used in a case by case basis, depending on the astringency level of a particular vintage. We can always find out which wines have been fined with egg whites as it is tracked. However we have not used egg whites in years and never in our white wines. All white wines are vegan. Older varietals of our reds may contain egg whites, so if you happen upon an old dusty bottle just check in with us first. All red and white wines of ours that are currently being sold are vegan with the exception of our Rose (which is currently sold out). Our winemaker also noted that our next vintage of Rose will be vegan, so hopefully we can phase out all the non-vegan wines soon. Until then, we are asking customers to check in with us directly so there is no confusion.
"I did specifically ask our wine maker about isinglass, casein, gelatin and egg whites in our 2015 Cabernet and she said none of those are in our 2015 Cabernet. We hope you are able to continue to enjoy our wines, please let me know if you have any other questions."
Shelby notes (September 2016):
"Hi I called Bogle winery to inquire about their 2014 Cabernet. After being transferred about 6 times as no one knew what I was asking they told me no animal products are used in the making of this wine. I specifically asked about the filtering as was told no 'egg whites or anything'."
Company email (March 2015):
"I was able to discuss this with our Director of winemaking, and it turns out that our entire line of 2013 vintages are vegan with the exception of our 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon and our 2013 Essential Red wines."
Company email (January 2015):
"Thank you for your interest in our Bogle 2012 Old Vine Zinfandel. I just checked with our Associate Winemaker, and that specific wine was not fined with egg whites."
Company email (October 2014):
"We do not use any animal based products in our production other than egg whites. The egg whites are only used in a case by case basis depending on the astringency level of a particular vintage. However if you enjoy drinking our white wines, you can continue, as we would never fine a white wine with egg whites. I checked with our winemaker on newer red vintages that did not use egg whites, I will leave the list below. Please let me know if you have any other questions, cheers!
Vegan Red’s/No Egg Whites
2012 Petite Sirah
2012 Essential Red
2012 Cabernet Sauvignon
2012 Merlot
2012 Pinot Noir
All white wines are vegan, no egg whites added.
2011 Phantom HAS egg whites, not vegan."
Company email (November 2013):
"In fact, there are no animal products used in any of our current vintages with the only exception being our 2011 Essential Red. Egg whites were used in the fining process, however no trace is left after repeated filtering and final bottling. So feel free to enjoy the wines as you have in the past, perhaps just avoiding the Essential Red."
Company email:
"Bogle winemakers use several products in the production of our wines, including gelatin and egg whites. These are classic and standard materials used in the making of most wines in California today."
