Company email (August 2016) re: Dirty Granny Cider
"Gelatin is used extensively in the production of juices and concentrates. Some of our cider ingredients originate from various third party suppliers and therefore we cannot guarantee that no animal products have been used at some stage during the supply chain."

Company email (March 2014):
"Thank you for contacting us at CUB.

Carlton United Brewers (including Matilda Bay Brewing Company and Cascade Brewing Company) do not use any animal based processing aids in the production of its beer products.

In the past collagen fining agents have been used to clarify our beers, however we have now developed a process that eliminates this requirement.

We do not use animal products in the production of our beer. As the definition of vegan and vegetarian can differ for the individual, we prefer to provide this information for consumers to decide for themselves as to whether this qualifies as vegan or vegetarian friendly."

From their website (Dec 2013):
"We brew Beez Neez with a blend of premium pale malted barley and malted wheats, then add Pride of Ringwood hops and pure light amber honey to the kettle to produce a beer that tastes like no other."

Company email:
"Foster’s Lager and Foster’s Special Bitter made in countries other than Australia do not use finings and are vegan friendly
Alpha Pale Ale, Dogbolter, “Out There” beers made at Matilda Bay Garage are vegan friendly
All other beer brands made in Australia are not vegan friendly, including Stella Artois, Carlsberg and Kronenbourg
Ciders made from imported juice (all brands) are not vegan friendly due to the widespread use of gelatine to fine apple juice."

Company Reply:
"Brewers worldwide have used Isinglass for the clarification of beer in storage for decades. Due to the introduction of new allergen labeling legislation, Australia's brewers ceased using fish finings late in 2003. Foster's assessed many alternatives for its replacement and selected a collagen based process aid, derived from Australian beef. The Australian Food Standards Code permits the use of this processing aid. Our filtration process removes yeast and finings.

We do continually reassess and evaluate our processes and the process aids we utilize. As such, we are presently reviewing an alternative, which is not derived from animals."
