Theresa notes (July 2017)
"I decided to ask the owner Alistair if they continue to use isinglass. He said they no longer do & their beer selection is now vegan friendly!" [Confirmed via email followup]

Suzanne notes (August 2015):

"I spoke to Alastair, of Macleod Microbrewery and he told me that none of their beers are vegan."

Company email (September 2014)

"For the vegetarian and vegan folks, our pale cask and keg beers [The Little Spree, The Crisis] have been fined (clarified) using isinglass which is the processed swim bladders of fish. Otherwise, all of our bottled beers and our dark beers in cask and keg have no isinglass. It should be noted that the isinglass does not end up in the beer you drink per se. As the isinglass is poured into the beer at packing, it sticks to all the yeast and sinks to the bottom of the keg/cask which is then poured off when the keg/cask goes into service at the bar. All that said, if you know of a suitable replacement for isinglass, we are always looking for ways to improve our process as well as make sure the diet-restricted are not left out. "
