Company email (August 2013):
"Unfortunately Our beers are not suitable for vegans. We use isinglass fining in all of our cask beers, and although our bottle beers don’t have any isinglass in them we do not specify they are suitable for vegans or vegetarians. This is due to the fact that we don’t take any precautions to prevent cross contamination with beers that do have isinglass finings in them. An example of this would be in our filtration area where an isinglass fined beer could be filtered before a beer without Isinglass and therefore you get cross contamination. I hope this makes sense and I can only apologies if you have been mislead in the past."
Company email (February 2012):
"The Old Tom Range of products do not use any animal products or animal processing aids. However we do not declare that they are vegetarian, this is because we do not take any extra precautions to prevent cross contamination with products that do use isinglass as a processing aid."
