Company email (October 2012):
(27/10/12) "See email below from the yeast manufacturer. Seems our beer is fully vegan. Hope that helps."
(25/10/12) "(sorbitane monosteareate) is not of animal origin and there for is totally safe in vegan diets. Should you wish a certificate, we can supply it."
(24/10/12) "I'm pleased to be able to confirm that, as far as we are aware, our beers are made without any animal products and we don't filter the beer our use any fining agents other than carageen seaweed extract. Our malted barley comes from a traditional floor malter (http://www.warminster-malt.co.uk). Our hops are mainly sourced from the USA and as far as I understand the processing of hops is limited to drying and vacuum packing. The only other ingredient is yeast. In our beers we use a dried yeast from Fermentis which does contain a rehydrating agent E491, the origins of which I cannot say with any certainty. I would suggest a quick look here http://www.food-info.net/uk/e/e491.htm as it would appear that some forms of stearate used in E491 can be derived from animal fat. I will contact Fermentis and seek some clarification from them on this point. I do hope that helps."
