Company email, Jan 2013:
"Every single beer we make is vegan friendly, as we us diatomaceous earth to filter our beer, not bone char (nor gelatin, egg whites, sea shells). We do use isinglass (dried fish bladder) when our beer is served on cask (not draught or bottle) unless a bar asks us to not put the isinglass in, such as Castro's in Toronto."
Company email (July 2012):
"All beers that we will have at T.O. Beer Fest are vegan friendly: Stone Hammer Light, Pilsner & Dark Ale. No animal products in the ingredients or filtering (we use diatomaceous earth to filter).
When we do CASK beer (which will NOT be available at the Beer Fest) then yes, we do use isinglass. The only current exception to this is at Castros Lounge in Toronto, who request our casks with no isinglass, so they are therefore vegan friendly.
Finally, none of our products are made anywhere else. However, we do make MacLean's Pale Ale at our brewery for MacLean's Ales, north of Mount Forest, ON. This beer will not be available at the Beer Fest and is made, filtered, and casked like our other beers, including the Castro's exception."
