Company email (July 2014):
"Oban Scotch Whisky, like all other Scotch Whisky, has only 3 ingredients, Water, Malted Barley and Brewer’s yeast, Scotch whisky by law cannot have any additives and no genetically modified barley is allowed to be used, it is all natural processes and nothing is added during filtration, therefore suitable for vegans.
The double matured is matured in the normal way, in an ex Bourbon American Oak refilled cask and after 14 years It’s then put into an ex Montilla Fino sherry cask for about 6 months to produce a richer flavour, as for bottling we have 2 bottling plants here in Scotland where we carry out our own bottling for Oban."
