Wiens Family Cellars Wines is Vegan Friendly

[Editor's note: According to the email below, this wine is technically vegan-friendly per Barnivore standards. We are following up to make sure that no animal products are used in the actual production/filtration of the wines.]

Company email (August 2013):
"We do spray our vines in the spring with a 10% skim milk solution as an organic alternative to synthetic fungicides, many of which can be very toxic. The milk does a good job controlling powdery mildew, which can be very destructive to wine grapes. Not spraying something is simply not an option if you want a usable crop that makes drinkable wine.

We are therefore technically not vegan I guess."
